Second Fix
Second fix often requires a more refined finish than first fix and includes the works that follow the plastering of a finished room, house, etc. This is when cosmetic features are added, such as electrical fixtures being connected to cables, sinks and baths connected to a water supply and doors fitted into door frames.
It is at this point that building regulations will require certificates from authorised contractors that are registered by CORGI (gas), NICEIC (electrics), etc. Without the necessary gas and electrical certificates, your house or extension will not be legally deemed suitable to live in.
Second fix can be provided as part of a project managed solution or, if you’ve undertaken your own building works, based on a single project basis.
